Nike – Paper Craft Sneakers

7 08 2006

Nike Japan produced these sneaker paper craft kits, as complementary gifts at all Nike store locations in Japan. Paper craft, models made entirely out of paper, is a long held tradition in Japan. Recently, sneaker theme paper craft has become very popular, such as our friend Shin Tanaka’s modeling of Nike AF 1’s and BAPESTA’s.

The Nike kits used state-of-the-art printing machines to add minute details, giving them a realistic appearance. Nike also consulted with artisan Tomohito Yasui, who is well known for his signature paper craft figurines “Kami-Robo”, on this project. Thanks to Aki for the photos!
